Encoding Metadata in Custom P4 Headers

Assigning metadata to packets has multiple uses, including creating tunnels through a network and carrying origin information to and from NFV services. This project investigates how to use custom P4 headers to encode metadata rather than repurposing headers like VLAN and MPLS.
